I am a freelance web designer in Waxahachie, Texas, 30 miles south of Dallas.
Background I started my technical career in 1981 with 10 years as a programmer, first at Electronic Data Systems and then at Briggs-Weaver in Dallas, programming in Cobol, Assembler, and CICS. From there I became a Instructional Designer at Texas Instruments for their Computer-Aided Software Engineering tools (CASE). I also worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst on investment software at Lamp Technologies and on tax software at Computer Language Research (now Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting).
Philosophy Now that I am designing and maintaining websites in my own business, I continue my passion for excellence. I believe in simple, logical, intuitive websites, customized for the purpose and the "feel" of the company. I encourage feedback from the client at each step in the website development process. I continue to take courses in techniques and trends in website design, so that I remain current in this quickly changing field.
Qualities In addition to my commitment to quality, I am known for being conscientious, thorough, enthusiastic and easy to work with.
Personal I grew up in Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University, and moved to Texas in 1981. I live in Waxahachie with my husband Kirk Hunter. Together we founded two non-profit organizations, the North Texas Traditional Dance Society and the Chautauqua Preservation Society.
